My friends and i talked about watching Transformers in Gateway a week ago. We got together this Saturday to actually watch it. On our way to the Cineplex of Gateway, we were so astounded to see the line pile in front of us. Basically, there were hundreds of movie-goers who wanted to watch the said movie. Oh why did we have to experience that damn pile? Well, part of it was our fault, knowing that Saturday would really be the perfect day to watch it, no work, no classes. But, grrr, ending, we just ate in Burgoo with orders we barely touched.

Google Love, Anyone?

These are times when cellphones act as personal computers, or as TVs, or even as a camera. Times when communication is as easy as 1,2,3. Times of airplanes, subs, satellite dishes, online dating, speed dating, etc.

True, these are different times. The internet has played a very vital role in everyone’s lives, whether directly or indirectly. We pay our bills online, or even manage our finances, transact business, hire employees, apply for jobs, order books, order groceries, everything there is can be catered by the internet. Oh, what a wonderful invention.

Now, I just realized that through the internet, we can alslo apply as a significant partner to someone. It may actually be a romatic relationship, or even just plain sex.

Vsist Google, for example, and just type in the words “online dating” will give a person thousands of links related to online community sites, online dating and the like. In a quarter of a second, presto, we can go ahead and register or sign up, edit our profiles, put a picture and voila, we now have an online account. Friendster, Facebook, Myspace are just some of these websites that cater to all kinds of sexes. We have Downelink, Manjam, Planet Romeo, Fridae and a lot more that cater to LGBTs.

Some of us may have tried using search engines in search of a lost love, I myself has experienced using GOOGLE in search of one, and who would believe, it provided positive results, now i have contact to someone i missed so much. Going back to my topic, some people actually use this system as their way of finding friends, sex partners, or even romantic partner. Some of them, those who i call LUCKY find perfect partners and end up marrying. Some actually start good friendship and end up being together. Some may also have bad or even sad experienced (myself included) that happened. Nevertheless, online search for the above-mentioned are becoming a hit amongst people, not only in the Philippines, but i think where there is internet.

I have been exposed to some experiences, well, almost around 70% of those whom I’ve met was through online help. Hmm, not all of them were happy experiences though, but then again, the internet helped me to find them, or the other way around.

What’s funny is that, we may have had bad/sad experiences, but what the heck, we still continue to sign up, register, edit profile and continue giving numbers to strangers. Who knows, any one of them could be the ONE. We just really need to be that focused in SEARCHING.

Welcome to the world where nothing exists but pure glibness! Hmm, I just coined that word so don’t dare ask me for the meaning of it. In the succeeding days, you will find a wide array of articles that touch upon peoples’ lives, emotions, entertainment, personal stories, feelings, etcetera.
